Recorded between 2014 and 2015, when Caterina Barbieri was fast establishing herself as one of the most original voices in modern electronic music. Following the success of her debut full-length - Patterns Of Consciousness - the Italian-born, Berlin-based composer came through with a second salvo of synthesiser excursions. The four tracks that make up Born Again In The Voltage were laid down at Stockholm’s Elektronmusikstudion. Working with the centre’s Buchla 200 as well as her own voice and the cello playing of Antonello Mostacci, Barbieri orchestrates these intense electro-acoustic pieces in a way that brings to mind a more longform rendering of artists like Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, Suzanne Ciani and Alessandro Cortini.
