Black Truffle (Keiji Haino, Charlemagne Palestine) present the first collaborative release between Australian songwriter Francis Plagne and Canadian sound artist crys cole. A single piece of music that runs to more than thirty minutes, Two Words is an impressive work born from clear vision. The first third of the piece is quiet and reserved, with sounds that could be rushing wind or running water gradually layered over one another while a single organ line plays in the background. From here the organ becomes more prominent, outlining a strange chord pattern that underpins Plagne’s clear-voiced singing. Field Of Reeds-era These New Puritans and the recent Blackest Ever Black drop by Tarquin Manek and Martina Quake spring to mind.
