Istanbul’s Sami Baha makes his long-awaited return to Planet Mu. ‘Discreet’ finds Baha catching a similar vibe to his breakout 2016 EP Mavericks. His beat is a similarly weighty amalgamation of trap, road rap, Soundcloud clubisms and the thick atmospheric cloak of a Deep Medi drop, all the while showing off a melody that recalls Future Brown and Kelela collab ‘Dangerzone’. Atop this, Dimzy - member of Brixton Road Rap upstarts 67 - mutters menacingly. Wearied by the grind, his hard-bitten flow takes no pleasure from the grind of hustling to feed his family. It’s a rap made all the more potent for its lack of bravado.
