Not much is known about debutant Night Christ, but ‘Conversation Policy’ is going to have people clamouring for more info. With the instrumental constructed from a bouncy rhythm track and swelling synth strings, Night Christ comes in with a lustful vocal that will set hearts a-flutter in the club. There’s a lot of 80s synth-pop in there - Depeche Mode, golden-age Madonna etc. - as well as a pinch of Gothic synthwave. However, ‘Conversation Policy’ is one of those rare tracks that will take on a completely different colour when listened to alone - the feeling of intimacy and familiarity in the track turns it into a pillow-talk anthem. Illum Sphere’s remix is more of an edit, gently dirtying-up the synths and extending the groove out to six-and-a-half minutes.
