Tim Exile has created a drum'n'bass album that brings in all his influences-- from electroacoustic composition to his own little choirboy voice. Initiated into the realms of the break beat at the tender age of 12 by a tape from a friend's older brother, Exile found a path he loved so much that his age has more than doubled without once deviating from the route (which embraces leading orchestras and choirs and composing title themes and scores for TV shows). Exile's genre-transcending versatility helped earn a Master's in electroacoustic composition, claim prizes in international competitions, and rustle up the kind of twisted drum'n'bass that has wiped the floor with punters and savvy journalists alike. Eager to increase his dancefloor mastery, Exile has also collaborated with DJ and MC Temper D (Renegade Hardware, G2) to create addictive, pounding, relentless d'n'b, and worked with John B on many occasions, united in the quest to stamp out generic d'n'b and bring more quirkiness to the electronic scene. His King Shredda / Spanner In The WorX single on Ram/Frequency acquired two 5-star Single of the Month ratings in DJ and Knowledge magazines. His site-specific composition for the temporary exhibition Shhh! won a prestigious competition run by the V&A Museum in London. Labels ranging from Cristian Vogel's experimental techno imprint Mosquito, US edit jungle hellraisers Evol Intent, Exile's long-time home Beta Recordings and Ram offshoot Frequency all plan on releasing Exile titles in 2005.
