Bleep

The first release from new London imprint Forgot is a neat taster of what is to come. The four tracks here incorporate elements of house, disco, jazz and funk in a similar way to that which has served Brownswood so well for all these years. It’s no surprise to find out that Ratomagoson has been picked up by Gilles Peterson’s Future Bubblers project, and the producer’s entry here is a nice slice of wonky hip-hop with a pleasingly thick low-end. Elsewhere Joe S indulges in a bit of Parrish-worship on ‘David’s Vocal’, Pila’s ‘It Just Makes’ wouldn’t sound out-of-place in a Smallville mix, and Hoffy’s ‘Makei Klap’ is ebullient dancefloor fodder.
