Dania Luck’s latest LP under the her Stacian moniker sees her team up with Night School (CC Dust, Happy Meals) for an album of brutalist electro. Person L (see what she’s done there) is an evolution rather than a revolution. Many of the tracks here build on the cold-wave/minimal-wave stylings of her previous releases, with chugging bass and John Carpenter-esque synths a staple of the record. Post-rave aesthetics like electroclash also feature prominently, as does a general air of dystopian nightmarishness - albeit of the camp, B-movie variety. All in all, it does a good job of plugging the hole left vacant by the breakup of Crystal Castles.
