Wonky party music for fans of Melt Yourself Down and !!! here. The debut release from Hong Kong trio Blood Wine or Honey demonstrates a pleasingly kitchen-sink approach to body music. The eponymous ‘Anxious Party People’ is a riot of screeches, whoops, shuffling grooves and throbbing bass, bringing to mind the golden age of DFA Records with a psychedelic twist thrown in for good measure. This effect is heightened further by a Factory Floor remix of said track on the flip, one which keeps up the gleeful intensity of the original while sanding down the edges of the groove into something more dancefloor-friendly. A similar effect is conjured by ‘The Young Ones’ and its remix.
