Middle Kids uploaded ‘The Edge of Town’ to the internet before playing a gig. Three million streams later and their debut EP is set to come out on Domino. Believe the hype, though - that song is a great slice of heartland indie in the vein of Angel Olsen or Strand of Oaks. Elsewhere opener ‘Your Love’ brings to mind a gutsier Isn’t Anything-era My Bloody Valentine and the rollicking ‘Never Start’ mines the rich seam of chest-swelling 2000’s rock that takes in Arcade Fire’s Funeral and Stars’ ‘Take Me To The Riot’.
