Bleep

Having made their debut on the stellar Bristol imprint Idle Hands last year, the duo consisting of Sam ‘Neek’ Barrett and Amos Childs from Jabu, return to the label under their O$VMV$M guise with an LP of illbient grime mutations, heavy on the sampling. The music is often delicate and pensive, though with abrasive textures appearing throughout and wailing adlibs set back in the mix. None of the tracks run much longer than two minutes, so it’s hardly designed for mixing in a club, instead suited to be played as a long player should – all the way through.
