Parisian artist Low Jack has built himself a formidable reputation in recent years. Responsible for skewed, chopped-screwed heaters on L.I.E.S, Trilogy Tapes, Delsin, he also runs the Editions Gravats imprint with Jean Carval. Little surprise, then, that his talent would be picked up by those shrewdest of operators from Manchester, Modern Love. This bewitching LP of fractured sampledelia, post-club rhythmic abstraction, and boiling-point house music makes good on those early 12’s. Ten tracks deep, Lighthouse Stories is a crazed, addictive meditation on dub-techno, Afrobeat, Andy Stott styled slo-mo house and SO much more. Killer.
