Leonard Campbell aka Lnrdcroy’s Much Less Normal first surfaced in 2014 on hip tape/digi label 1080p to much acclaim; its breezy melodicism, and lo-fidelity house shapes won on every count. Edinburgh’s Firecracker did the righteous thing and pressed up a deluxe vinyl edition to even further applause. Here, the Vancouver man returns to Firecracker’s sister-label Unthank for a hotly anticipated 12”. The three tracks here swoon from glassy New Age swells, richly melodic ambient chords, gaseous bass textures and chugging chill-out room c.1992 techno of ‘Terragem’. A special talent on a great label, what more do you need?
