Funkineven issues the debut EP from Irish-born, East London-based producer Shamos via his Apron Records label. Broadly operating in the realm of techno, Shamos’s tracks all feature the sort of grubby basslines, analogue grooves, and weed-haze atmospherics that have defined previous Apron releases over the years. While ‘Ode To Lynch’ sticks out as the most original and idiosyncratic of the tracks, the straightforward dancefloor focus of ‘Cranbourne Road’ is another major highlight.
