The second release from meandyou co-founder Andrew Lyster’s Youth imprint here, courtesy of NTS stalwart Shamos. Despite having previously released music via Funkineven’s Apron, Shamos takes a left-turn on these four cuts. Lo-fi electronics are the order of the day across YO2TH, and while the EP jumps around stylistically there is unifying murkiness to the music. ‘Found Grace’ and ‘TMF’ are both excursions into coldwave, though the former’s piddle-paddle groove contrasts with the blunt-edged industrialism of the latter. ‘13213132’ is a sort-of-hip-hop instrumental full of icy synth chords and skittering percussion. Proceedings round out with the dog-eared acid of ‘Nuws’.
