Clone's Aqualung series dives deep into the darkest corners of the Drexciya ocean with the first ever vinyl pressing of Heinrich Mueller's electro paranoia album Paranormale Aktivitat. Originally released in 2011 by Aphex Twin's Rephlex imprint, fans of this obscure LP have been craving a full vinyl release ever since its inception and we are pleased to say that in the context of the current electronic music climate (and on wax!) Paranormale Aktivitat sounds more spacious and otherworldly than ever before.

Composed as a collaborative album between Susana Correira, Beta Evers, Penelope Martin and Gerald Donald. Paranormale came out at a time when Rephlex was in full flow issuing sides from an array of Donald's projects including: Drexciya 3: Molecular Enhancement, Transllusion's L.I.F.E. and Dopplereffekt's flooring Calabi Yau Space album. When it was released it seemed to appear out of nowhere and having only been made available on a limited run of CDs, it quickly disappeared into obscurity and the CD shelves of those lucky enough to find a copy.

The blueprint of the record stands strong to Donald's scientific lab coat electro; icy spider like melodies creep across the vast metal structures that engross each recording, but where the album really stands out is the use of the voice and electronics from three thirds of the group. The female vocals give the album a cold minimal wave style feel and make it sound like it wouldn't be out of place if it had been released on Dark Entries as a long lost post-punk/electro obscurity (which it pretty much is). Every track drips with a slow moving film score ambience but adds a brooding, dark undercurrent that draws you in before drowning in the albums final moments. While it is unmistakably Gerald Donald behind the scenes, Paranormale Aktivitat sounds quite unlike anything else in his sprawling discography. Imagine if Nico and Lena Platonos fronted The Other People Place and released on Downwards and you are half way there...
