Rotterdam label Clone Records adds another massive reissue to their Clone Aqualung Series with Life After Mutation (aka L.A.M.)’s 1992 Balance Of Terror LP. One of several Drexciya offshoots, L.A.M. continued some of the group’s Afrofuturist themes, but came at them from an even harder angle. In fact, tracks like ‘Nuclear Facelift’ and ‘Death Toll’ are downright nasty slices of brain-rattling electro that could whip any dancefloor into a frenzy. Originally offered on Robert Hood’s Hardwax label, Balance Of Terror is yet another crucial puzzle piece to the Drexciya story to get the proper reintroduction it deserves.
