Fittingly, Modeselektor deliver the 50th and final instalment to their beloved 50 Weapons imprint with a sparse, dub-wise session that includes the revered talents of seminal toaster and regular Rhythm & Sound collaborator Tiki Man aka Paul St. Hilaire. In typical Modeselektor fashion, ‘Trees’ is a hybrid of styles engineered with a club mentality, here conjuring up a windswept, tension-laced dub-expanse with Tikiman’s vocals adding to the atmospheric abyss. On the other-side, ’50 Trees’ is the dark, ambient funereal precession that wraps up things up, burying the imprint with kinetic sub-bass wobbles and dub-laden, grim reaper styled percussive clangs.
