Alongside the late DJ Rashad, DJ Spinn is one of the figures most recognised for helping spread Chicago footwork music and culture across the globe. Off That Loud is DJ Spinn’s first solo EP for Hyperdub (although he worked with Jessy Lanza and Taso on the ‘You Never Show Your Love’ single for the label earlier in 2015). The key track on here is ‘Dubby’, a posthumously released collaboration with DJ Rashad and beloved underground rapper Danny Brown that demolishes genre binaries with a glorious mixture of footwork, jungle, jazz, and hip hop.
