Returning to Livity Sound for the first time since 2012, Joe Cowton brings forward this tight solo release for the techno stable. On Repeat is exactly the kind of cut Kowton nails – starry eyed techno with staggered, left-field syncopations. Holding Patterns takes the pedal off the metal ever so slightly for a cloudy, thinner track that could fit nicely into a marathon main-room Villalobos set. As a returning effort, this double header reaffirms Kowton’s status as one of Livity’s definitive forces.
