Kowton follows his killer debut album with a two tracker of skeletal techno.
The real deal here is the Remarc R.I.P. sampling A ‘Pea Soup’ the rhythm track building up slowly from a kick and low pulse of sub across six minutes. Atop this, one gets reverb-drenched whooshes of noise and single stabs straight outta Brockley's finests sampler.
On the flip, ‘Iodine’ ups the tempo without letting the eeriness drop. The dubby electronics are here wed to a minimal techno groove, underneath which a kick and hi-hat are augmented by a set of modulating minor chords.
