Hotflush Recordings CEO Scuba presents another single from his 2015 album Claustrophobia, backed by an apt rework from Figure owner Len Faki. The longest track on the album, ‘Black On Black’ clocks in at 9 minutes, and its cleverly progressing percussion work makes it worth every second. Embodying the signature style of Berlin techno, Len Faki bridges the single with Scuba’s years in the German capital: his version of ‘Black On Black’ picks up the original’s sinister vibes, keeping the ground work heavy and conjuring up a thickening melodic plot towards the end of the piece.
