Prolific Kentucky singer/ songwriter Will Oldham, better known as Bonnie “Prince” Billy, returns to Domino with his latest full-length. On Singer’s Grave A Sea Of Tongues, Oldham reworks a number of tunes from his 2011 LP Wolfroy Goes To Town, including ‘It’s Time To Be Clear’, ‘There Will Be Spring’ and ‘Quails And Dumplings’. Here, he expands on the originals’ sparse arrangements, adding touches of blues, country and folk. The focus, as always, remains on Oldham’s fragile vocals and haunting melodies.
