London multi-instrumentalist Tom Vek releases his third album Luck on Moshi Moshi. Recorded entirely solo in contrast to his previous releases, and made following the dismantling of his East London studio to make way for new flats, its an album riddled with rebellious angst and very personal emotional bite. He's arrived at a suitably grungey rock sound, driven my rugged, snarling guitars, as on the turbo-charged rush of 'Sherman (Animals In The Jungle)'. However, Vek's gift for crafting a catchy tune is still apparent. 'Broke' swings along on clanking, metallic percussion and spiky keys while still sounding absorbing.
