Shitkatapult present an album of glitch-funk from Bus, which impresses both in its precision and variety of influence. ‘What is Paris’ is a burnt-out dubstep number, with lone bass wobbles and jazzy percussion, while ‘Tamed Lion’ similarly recalls Mala in its shuffling half-step hi-hats, though they are set against a cool Fender Rhodes groove which has more akin to electric-era Miles Davis. ‘Skank’ is a bizarre reggae diversion, with video game synths taking the place of skanking guitars, while ‘Soundberg’ finds the producer in dance floor mode, reigning strident brass onto a thudding kick.
