Analogue explorer Ralph Cumbers returns under his Bass Clef alias for four wide-eyed dance trips which tip their hat to fellow Bristolian Bugbrand, presented by the excellent Public Information label. If lead track ‘Faster Than The Speed Of Love’ is anything to go by, the artist is on the kind of form which have made previous releases on the likes of Punch Drunk such a pleasure. Muscular toms and faded claps prop up rolling synth lines which seem to open out endlessly, inevitably recalling Kraftwerk, but in a fuzzier, more psychedelic resurrection.
