Last seen on DJ Haus’ Unknown to the Unknown label on a strong split with electro hero DJ Stingray, Vin Sol returns with POL Style and Matrixxman for another excellent shared release. ‘Angry Frogs’ is a mad-cap electro romp, where a cartoon squelch wreaks havoc amongst incessant cowbell and crashing 808s. ‘Powertop’ is a similarly unhinged banger, with a sliding bass gnawing its way through robust percussion like a crazed lawnmower. ‘Mz Jackie’ and ‘Moderation’ are strong tools for any dance-floor, where slick drum programming is allowed to come to the fore, completing an EP which delivers on extrovert thrills without sacrificing technical prowess.
