Genres

Die Gesunden were one of the front runners of Neue Deutche Welle coming out of Berlin in the early 1980s. Their self-titled EP 'Die Gesunden' was originally released in 1982 on Klaus Schulze's legendary Innovative Communication imprint and contained the drumming talents of Thomas Wydler, who later found fame with Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds. The sound is typically a mix of power-electronics and synth-pop, which despite being overall experimental, remains super catchy. Opener 'Instru-Mental' is a short, quirky showcase of synth play, whilst 'Die Gesunden Kommen' dives deeper through bouncing electronic percussion and hissed vocals. Recommended for fans of early Kraftwerk, Liaisons Dangereuses and DAF.
