As The Caretaker drifts ever closer toward emptiness, we reach the penultimate step of Everywhere At The End Of Time, the journey starting to slowly grind to a halt as the clouds hang heavy on the horizon.

Entering into a near-permanent stage of confusion and horror, in Stage 5 it gives us only brief moments of clarity, ones that even if we try as hard as we can, we just can't quite seem to catch a hold of before they are pulled back into the gloom of his fading mind.

Moments from Caretaker albums of the past swim in and out of earshot, yet the horror and everlasting heaviness that's setting in forever distracts with a sense of detachment through deja vu. A deeply anxious listen when you try and remember that by the next stage things will finally reach the end. Can the world be as sad as it seems?
