The title track from his 2012 debut on coveted pop label One Little Indian, ‘Better Than This’ captures the highs of Luca Santucci’s Stubborn Heart output: falsetto dinner table funk led by a swaggering beat, flashy keyboards, delicious 8-bit synths and Santucci’s groaned anxieties. 808 State Graham Massey bashes metallophone on side B, while new track ‘Do Tomorrow’ adds mesmerising digital drums to a weirded-out hauntology sample. Ignore Santucci’s cry of “We could do better” - he’s talking cobblers.
