A closeted concoction of hedonism and isolation from Unknown Mortal Orchestra on their second album, now reissued on silver vinyl to celebrate its 10th anniversary. The musical mind of New Zealand-born, Portland-based Ruban Nielson takes the psychedelia and chopped-up funk percussion of previous works and injects it with some unnerving witch-themed undertones. The cover-art image of Janet Farrar, the famous British witch and witchcraft teacher, goes some way to introducing the disconcerting noise and slow-burning ends of this imaginative record.
