Recorded amidst the Quebec student protests of 2012, ‘Images Du Futur’ is the new album from Montreal’s Suuns. Made, according to the band themselves, during ‘a climate of excitement, hope and frustration’, the album permeates throughout with a sense of dynamism and intensity. Layers build and rise, washes of white noise, guitar echoes and hazy vocals rub up against a certain swagger and jazz inflections. Minimalist techniques create maximalist works.
