After the praise heaped on Robert Hood for his Detroit requiem album ‘Motor: Nighttime World 3’, the techno producer could have had his pick of the remixers. He chose one: Phase Ø, a veteran known for his gritty Belgian releases, and who focuses on the crunchy side of Hood’s shimmering original, adding a vicious techno beat laced with static electricity. A second ‘C-Box’ mix throws in squelchy white noise and thicker bass, while the album version gets a whole side to itself.
