Techno OG and Underground Resistance alumni Robert Hood continues his three-decade-strong perfect run of mechanised grooves with his Rekids debut, making good on the bountiful remix work he’s done on the imprint. ‘Nothing Stops Detroit’ is Hood at his finest, an undeniable electronic stomper from top to bottom, a sonic signature which carries across to the bone-shaking vertiginous rhythm of ‘7 Mile Dog’. ‘Ignite A War’ adds touches of heavy bass and shrill high ends to the maniacal 4/4 fray, as ‘The Cure’ meditates on an inscrutable sample and an almost industrial techno sense of dread.
