Hair Police present their first new material in over five years with ‘Mercurial Rites’ - demonstrating their supreme staying power as survivors of the rapidly dissolving US noise scene. Members Robert Beatty, Mike Connoly and Trevor Tremaine remain staunch and successful soloists, yet together they hit the wrong-yet-right note again and again with a dirt-soaked collection of blood-curdling noise abstractions that refuses the saccharine pleas of the dance floor, much unlike fellow noise-scene compatriots.
