Meze, a brand new label started by DJ 3000 as an offshoot of Motech, inaugurates itself with a full-length release from Miami’s Deviant. A collection of instrumental hip hop, or ‘hoodlectro’ as he’s dubbed it, it’s all glossy production; jangling chains over slick boom-bap beats. Far from being instrumentals that cry out for an emcee - the fifteen cuts stand alone in their own right.
