London based producer Surusinghe makes her debut on the AD 93 label with a new EP entitled Brake Fluid. The Australian born Surusinghe draws from a deep well of intercontinental dance music flavours here, folding in elements of dembow, hardcore rave, techno, and jungle (among others) into an otherworldly, extra-terrestrial blend of forward thinking club. ‘Bop’ has been lighting up dancefloors all year for good reason, but the equally frantic ‘Boka’ rivals the fun with hand drums and a kick that feels like a battering ram straight to the sternum.
