The previous solo release of Ride guitarist Andy Bell, 2020’s The View From Halfway Down, saw his legendary shoegaze washes recede, revealing his tender search for tone and mood akin to the measured, psychedelic pace of John Fahey and Spaceman 3. See My Friends EP offers a luscious addendum to the release, marking another stylistic turn thanks to remixer Pye Corner Audio. The EP comes in two parts, featuring ‘The Commune’ and ‘Plastic Bag’, each with their own rework. Bell’s own versions sift through space rock and honey-dripped dream pop, while Pye Corner’s open up new dimensions of rich, experimental electronica.
