Sigur Rós make their debut on the BMG label with a new full length entitled ÁTTA. Jack-of-all-trades Kjartan Sveinsson has returned to the group since his departure in 2012, and his presence is felt throughout Sigur’s first LP in over a decade. Recorded piecemeal all over the world (namely their own space Sundlaugin in Mosfellsbær, as well as Abbey Road and several studios in the US), ATTA bears a remarkable amount of cohesion despite the setting and lineup shifting. Tracks like early single ‘Blóðberg’ and ‘Andrá’ bear the group’s unmistakable feel, but with added heft from collaborators like the London Contemporary Orchestra and brass performed by fellow Icelandic ensemble Brassgat í bala.
