Hot Chip’s fifth album lands, a riotous collection of colourful pop songs from the UK’s premier electronic-pop outfit. Strip back the outwardly goofy vocals and there are references to cruising 80s synth-pop, Chicago house, soul and funk. ‘Don’t Deny Your Heart’ sounds alive with 80s disco-pop chords, ‘Let Me Be Him’ is a warm and nostalgic piece of balearic sounding pop, whilst ‘Night and Day’ is the surprise track of the album with jacking shuffling house rhythms.
