Dance music’s nature of being in constant flux is reflected in the compilation’s amorphous and abundant artwork, and its artists who “resist easy definition” while defining today’s electronic landscape. The coursing furore from NVST with twitching breaks like a ginormous machine powering up, the plummeting concrete beats and translucent synths from Ryan James Ford, and the hyperventilating visceral daze of torn up choral vocals from Jean Redondo recall the early techno experimenters that passed through Tresor’s steel doors.
