Experimental pop producer Genevieve Artadi returns to the Brainfeeder label for her latest LP entitled Forever Forever. Artadi blends even further into the Brainfeeder universe here, using jazz as a de-facto jumping off point to explore all kinds of zones and techniques that hue somewhere in the vicinity of the avant-garde, but with a winking eye towards pop music as well. Inspired as much by the genre-agnosticism of her peers as the spiritual teachings of Vietnamese Thien Buddhism and Ram Dass’ modern yoga, Artadi applies these tools to explore a concept album of sorts about love and the ways she expresses it to the people in her life. Written in part for a big band ensemble, Forever Forever is also Artadi’s most musically expansive effort yet, with tracks like ‘Visionary’ and ‘Change Stays’ brimming with orchestration and supple hooks to boot.
