Skudge don't beat around the bush. To us, they are nothing more than a one-word name and some tough-as-nails techno. The mysterious duo go heavy on the dubbed-out chords on 'Surplus', expertly breaking up the concrete with contrasting hi-hats and whistles. 'Void' on the other hand is an emotive rolling track of techno goodness featuring wavering synths and sci-fi style zaps. The remix version by Conforce shifts things from the tech-house Berlin side of things to some serious deep Detroit hi-tech soul.
