Originally from Canada, adopted by Berlin, Deadbeat has explored the darkest depths of the European techno and dub-tech scene since the late 90s. He last dropped an EP on Echochord Colour in 2013 and has since been focusing, largely, on his own label, BLKRTZ. Our Rotten Roots is everything you’d expect from Deadbeat, plus a whole lot more. ‘Put on your red shoes and trance’ is a dark and twisted acid roller, while ‘Just Jackin around’ is a basement ready techno bomb. Staying true to Echochord’s ‘dancefloor only’ philosophy, both tracks are poised for a late-night party.
