Wave Function Records (the brainchild of Malta’s Sound Synthesis) is returning for a second release with the debut LP from Bristol’s Zobol. A lively mix of clattering electro and squelchy acid, Zobol also takes detours into footwork with the expertly titled ‘Footwerk’ and ambient sound design with the closing ‘Wave-Particle Duality.’ These tracks alongside plenty of Detroit-inspired drums and synths make for a familiar but still highly engaging listen, and another win for the young Wave Function label as a whole.
