Sam Barrett and Amos Childs aka O$VMV$M return to No Corner with Weekend Saviour — and fittingly enough, there are hints of their past all over this 12”. ‘Bird Ride’ echoes the duo’s earlier bass-oriented sound, pairing raspy drum programming with a curiously sunny reggaeton melody line akin to DJ Lycox. Meanwhile, this disc’s title track harnesses this melody and transforms it into a noir-ish electronic chug of downtempo hi-hats and a menacing piano key thud.
