Maoupa Mazzocchetti’s album is a lot of things at once, priding itself on being a maximalist composition which draws from anywhere and everywhere. But above all else, it is unique. The sound design is captivating, neurotic and ultra-modern. One minute it channels a hellish, future dystopia, the next minute it's surrealist hyper-pop. UXY Dosing ©, which Mazzocchetti claims introduces a whole new genre to the world, includes collabs with ZULI, Charmaine Lee, Emma DJ, Vica and Philipp Jondo, a stellar cast of similarly non-confirming musicians and sound architects.
