Hoping to make good on the promising new band he’d assembled for his last solo LP I Love The New Sky, Charlatans main man Tim Burgess returns with Ascent Of The Ascended. With sessions and tours sadly cut short by the global pandemic, the EP is a striking document of the here and now, as well as a magisterially dreamy guitar pop record. The title track and ‘Yours. To Be’ delve deep into psychedelic rock and Americana styles, as the live renditions showcase a band on top form.
