Richie Hawtin’s debut album Dimension Intrusion under his F.U.S.E alias is one his earliest and best realised works in a career that has spanned three decades. Released via his seminal Plus 8 imprint in tandem with Warp’s AI series, his work as F.U.S.E chartered much wider grounds and deeper emotional territory than his equally important Plastikman alias. Textures range from the tough acidic throbs of ‘Substance Abuse’, trippy celestial excursions on ‘Theychx’ and emotionally entrenched, cerebral techno on the beautiful title cut ‘Dimension Intrusion’ – truly seminal works that have aged exceptionally well.
