Having spent portions of his life everywhere from Italy to Saudi Arabia, London producer and founding member of Flamingods Mera Bhai presents a truly cross-cultural sound on Futureproofing EP. The similarities are more telling than the differences, as Bhai pulls on the thread of wild, body-moving and undeniably dance music inherent to subcultures across the globe. ‘Mañana Groove’ simultaneously summons disco in its propulsive rhythm, West African pop in its highlife guitar lick and a European underground sensibility in its distorted vocal.
