Special Interest return with their second LP The Passion Of, and just as they did on 2018’s Spiraling this New Orleans band have created another masterpiece of caustic post-punk here. If you’ve ever listened to Drunk In Hell you’ll be able to see a through-line to Special Interest’s unpredictable and volatile grooves. However, amid the grinding electronics, screeching vocals and atonal guitar riffs, many of these tracks also show off some eminently danceable drum programming.
